General Membership Meeting 1/6/11

1.     The meeting was opened by Sam Painter with the first order of business being the election of new officers for the 2011 year.

 

2.     Nominations were made as follows:  Treasurer – Kent Barker, Secretary – Steve Thompson, Vice President / Golf Chairman – David Betts and President – Dale Welch.

 

3.     A vote was held and all were approved.

 

4.     The new officers were installed.  Dale Welch opened the meeting by congratulating the past officers for a job well done.

 

5.     The first topic opened for discussion was the proposal to merge the MGA and the LGA.  Several ideas were introduced.

 

·        One group MGA/LGA to handle all activities

·        Ladies have their own separate organization.

·        MGA has the women as an auxiliary group.

·        Remain the same as in 2010 with joint Members Golf Associations

 

After a short period for discussion a secret ballot was held.  This vote was 17 voting YES to remain the same as in 2010 and 11 voting NO to change the Association to allow a merge.

 

6.     The next point of business was a discussion on the MGE Shoot Out   times.   A motion was made to set the last starting time for Saturdays Shoot Out to be no later than 12:00 PM with walkers that are members able to start after 10:00 AM.  This motion was passed unanimously
